  2. I think Amara is Cyrus’ mother. Maybe she messed with magic back in the day, gained her own powers, but her sons got zapped into genie lamps/bottles as a result. Then she wanted to collect 3 specific genie vessels, the ones containing her sons, so she could reunite them and change the laws of magic to be able to free them. Cyrus said his little compass always used to point towards his mother, but “some years ago, it just stopped pointing” (and now the needle just goes round and round), and I think the compass started acting weird when his mother got trapped in Jafar’s snake staff. Amara being his mother could also play into why she took in Jafar as a kid, because she was a mother missing her sons, so she liked having little Jafar around.
